Who are we?

SCROLL DOWN

Who are we?

THIS IS WHAT I WANT (TIWIW) is The Bay Area annual performance festival about desire, artistically directed by independent artist Tessa Wills. TIWIW serves as a field of activity that generates performance, workshops and embodiment practices in which makers and participants explore queer desire as a socio-political force running through the foundations of culture, capitalist economy, and interpersonal relationships. Since its founding in 2010 by Jesse Hewit and Rachael Dichter, TIWIW has produced risk taking participatory work thematically interrogating The Gaze, The Internet, The Economy, and Immigration through a lens of queer desire. This is a theatre of the fecundity of decomposition: to deconstruct as we present the ties that bind us, and reconstruct intimate human relationships of queered formulations in our present environment.

In 2017, the 8th iteration of the annual performance festival about desire will be multimedia performance walks through the Tenderloin, on the 25th, 26th and 27th of May. Tickets go on Sale 1st of May.
